PONDERING CORE ESSENCE
NUMENON |
The annual banquet for the Michigan Muskie Alliance (MMA; www.michiganmuskiealliance.org ) was held last evening, just 6 miles or so from my home. And, while my muskie efforts have slipped in the last couple of years and my muskie "success" has plummeted during that same time frame, I attended the banquet with pleasure. I reconnected with my original Muskie Mentor and learned that his brother lives in a nearby city. I suspect we'll all be hitting Lake St. Clair at some point in the future as we try to crack that legendary body of water. I also learned that a nearby lake, of which I am not too fond for bass and panfish, is a somewhat reliable producer of muskellunge. Given its proximity and convenience, I'll add that lake to my list of realistic options. I also learned that MMA has directly accounted for about 20% of the muskies stocked in the last decade or so. All in all, everybody involved was pleasant and optimistic, and I am please to have supported such a cause. Here's to "something good, muskie-wise" in 2019 or beyond! Pondering the questions of core essence and finding meaning in unexpected ways
